Lance Leaf Calathea's attractive large textured lance-shaped leaves remain dark green in color with prominent purple makings and maroon undersidesthroughout the year. The flowers are not ornamentally significant.
This is an herbaceous houseplant with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its relatively coarse texture stands it apart from other indoor plants with finer foliage. This plant should not require much pruning, except when necessary to keep it looking its best.
Planting & Growing
When grown indoors, Lance Leaf Calathea can be expected to grow to be about 24 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 18 inches. It grows at a slow rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 5 years.
