Features

Plumeria 'Lemon Drop' features showy clusters of fragrant, lemon-yellow flowers at the ends of the branches from late spring through summer. Glossy green foliage provides bold contrast throughout the season. Leaves do not develop significant fall color. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.

Plumeria 'Lemon Drop' will grow to be about 12 to 15 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 10 to 15 feet. It has an upright, open habit with a typical clearance of 2 to 3 feet and is suitable for planting under power lines. It grows at a medium rate and can live for many years under ideal conditions.

Plant in full sun for best flowering. Use well-drained soil and avoid soggy conditions. Water to establish, then reduce frequency; drought-tolerant once established. Some tolerance to salt and urban pollution. Sap may irritate skin and is toxic if ingested; use care around children and pets. Propagate by cuttings.

Excellent in containers; container plants often require more frequent watering and a fast-draining potting mix.
