Plumeria 'Intense Rainbow' produces showy clusters of fragrant flowers in vibrant blended tones (often yellow, orange, pink, and red) at the ends of the branches from late spring through summer. Deep green foliage provides bold contrast throughout the season. Leaves do not develop significant fall color. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.

Planting & Growing

Plumeria 'Intense Rainbow' will grow to be about 12 to 15 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 10 to 15 feet. It has an upright, open habit with a typical clearance of 2 to 3 feet and is suitable for planting under power lines. It grows at a medium rate and can live for many years under ideal conditions.

Grow in full sun for best color and flowering. Provide well-drained soil and avoid consistently wet areas. Water to establish, then allow soil to dry slightly between waterings; drought-tolerant once established. Some tolerance to salt and urban pollution. Sap may irritate skin and is toxic if ingested; use care around children and pets. Propagate by cuttings.

Very effective in large patio containers; container-grown plants often need more frequent watering and occasional feeding during the warm season.
