Favorite shade plant...
Ferns, Gardenia, and Hydrangea. My favorite shade plant, that I use on repeat, is the Asplenium 'Austral Gem'. This is one tough little fern that thrives in shady planters that adds a lovely deep green color and nice texture.
Favorite outdoor feature...
Garden pathways. Garden pathways are essential to moving both the person and the eye through the garden. I often achieve this by placing a design element such as a fountain, a decorative pot, or a birdbath at a distant point and bring the garden path up to and past this design element. The path does not need to be complicated. It can be delineated by steppers, or a chunky bark that is different than the surrounding topper.
A Small Sample. Endless Possibilities.
