Application Guide
Before Applying: Remove existing weeds and debris from the planting area. For best results, make sure the soil is adequately watered before spreading mulch.
Recommended Depth: Apply approximately 2 to 3 inches deep throughout garden beds and landscaped areas.
Around Trees and Shrubs: Spread mulch evenly around the root zone, keeping the material several inches away from trunks, stems, and the crowns of plants. Avoid piling mulch directly against plant material.
For Weed Suppression: Maintain a consistent mulch layer of approximately 3 inches. Periodically check the area and replenish mulch as it naturally settles and decomposes.
Maintenance: Rake or fluff the mulch occasionally to refresh its appearance. Add additional material as needed to maintain the desired depth and coverage.
Coverage: Actual coverage will vary depending on application depth and site conditions. A 2 cu. ft. bag covers approximately 12 square feet at a 2-inch depth or 8 square feet at a 3-inch depth.
