Application Guide
For Potting Mixes: Thoroughly blend perlite with an appropriate potting soil or growing medium before planting. Adjust the amount used based on the drainage and aeration requirements of the plant.
For Houseplants: Incorporate perlite evenly into potting soil when planting or repotting to help create additional air space and improve drainage throughout the root zone.
For Container Plants: Mix perlite with the selected container soil before filling pots. Always use containers with adequate drainage holes and select a potting mix appropriate for the plants being grown.
For Propagation: Perlite can be incorporated into propagation and rooting mixes when a lightweight, aerated growing medium is desired.
Watering: Water according to the needs of the individual plant. Because adding perlite can increase drainage and air space within a growing medium, watering frequency may need to be adjusted based on the plant, container, and growing conditions.
Helpful Tip: Perlite is especially useful for improving dense or moisture-retentive potting mixes. Thoroughly blend it throughout the growing medium rather than applying it only to the surface.
